Dog trainer courses: Become a dog training specialist. Our course will provide you with all the knowledge required to teach canine obedience. After this course, you will have all the tools necessary to work in any dog training facility or start your own business.

DOG TRAINER COURSE

D.T.01 : Canine Behaviour

This module is given over a 5 day period, at 3 hours a day. You will learn canine language and the principles of conditioning. We will also see the evolution of the puppy from 0-6 months so as to have a good comprehension of the stages of development in order to maximise its training.

D.T. 02: Dog Evaluation
You will learn how to properly evaluate canine behaviours by observation, tests and manipulations. These evaluations will always be under proper supervision to ensure safety.

D.T.03: Basic training using head halti, flat collar...
In this chapter, you will learn how to use different training collars and master the proper techniques relative to each, all of which with the up-most respect for the animal.

D.T.04: Clicker training

This course will allow you to acquire the basic knowledge of clicker training by using positive reinforcement techniques. We will see the basic rules that apply and why these techniques are used.

D.T.05: Aggression

We will see the causes that bring a dog to express aggressive behaviours, to work with these dogs in a safe manner and use training methods that are without violence or harmful to the dog.

D.T.06 Teaching

You will learn how to structure a class from puppy classes to advanced obedience in such a way as to ensure that from puppy to adult, proper learning takes place.

D.T.07: Health and nutrition

This day is devoted to building your knowledge in basic health and nutrition. Sandie Wand, animal health technician, will teach you her knowledge in these matters. Nutrition, vaccination, parasites, diseases are just an overview of the many elements to know in animal health and how it relates to behaviour and education. For the canine behaviour specialist course, 2 modules will be added to that will be thought over 2 week periods; which are:

C.B.08: Perfecting clicker training

You will broaden your knowledge of clicker training and perfect your techniques and how they apply to ‘in series behaviours’. This will allow you to train dogs in many disciplines such as: working dogs, search and rescue, agility, freestyle...

C.B.09: Severe behaviour modification

For this module, you will learn advanced techniques in treating severe behaviour issues such as: aggression, separation anxiety, auto mutilation....You will have a chance to put these techniques into practice by working with dogs suffering from these types of behaviours. Plus, you will see how environmental enrichment can help with these problems.
