About me
Welcome to my website
My biggest passion in life is helping animals. In fact, my parents always
said I was born screaming “I want a dog”.
They even named me “Sandie bibitte” because I was always bringing home some little creature or another: moles, birds, garter snakes,
cats…. Of course, this was to their dismay.
Today, these same habits remained. I own 2 dogs, 2 cats, and 3 birds.
I am also constantly trying to find a home for some animal in need. I think we can say this passion is in my blood.
It is for this reason I have made it my profession for 8 years.
During my academic training, I started my career working in a veterinary
clinic after graduating as an animal health technician from Vanier College. This work led me to attend many
seminars on animal behaviour and to read numerous books on canine psychology.
While working in veterinary clinics, I helped countless clients whose dogs had behavioural problems, and this,
by answering their questions. I quickly realized there was a definite need for behaviourists to perform home consultations.
I then pursued a training as a canine behaviour specialist certified
from the C.E.C.A. (Centre d’Étude en Comportement Animal).
In the past, I have taken several canine obedience courses as well as agility classes with my own dog, now aged 11.
This has helped me greatly in my career, since I am able to adapt my canine rehabilitation programs according to the techniques that I was taught.
I remain a true optimist, and I firmly believe there is
always something that can be done to help a dog suffering with behaviour problems.
I believe the key to success for the rehabilitation of an animal is without a doubt:
- the willingness of the owner to work with a specialist
- to possess the right method and approach in order to modify the undesirable behaviours
- always use positive reinforcement for the wanted ones!
So if you feel this site concerns you, do not hesitate to communicate with me!
